Tai Chi for the Immune System

During a Tai Chi practice, there is a flow of steady, meditative movement and breath that focuses the mind and conditions the body. Experts hypothesize that these slow, gliding movements and controlled breathing combine in a powerful force against toxins and diseases by helping to give the lymphatic system (the body’s natural defense system) a boost. Researchers have also found that this practice can significantly enhance the regulatory action of T-cells (the white blood cells instrumental in fighting against cold and flu). This practice is easy to learn and as it can be practiced sitting as well as standing, almost anyone, of any physical condition, can do it.
